21 Day Fix Extreme Results

I totally fail at this remembering to write thing! I can’t believe it’s been six weeks since my last post. A lot has been happening!

We went to a wonderful wedding in San Antonio at the end of October, and then spent a week in San Diego for my husband’s conference. It was lovely working from the hotel and then exploring the city in the afternoon! I also really enjoyed getting to see my sister some.

It seems like life has taken over since getting back to Seattle: I’ve been cooking and cleaning a lot, we’ve been hosting and going to parties and gatherings every week, and there doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day. One thing I’ve been making sure to make time for every day is exercise.

I’m Amy and I love workout DVDs!

Haha, I felt like I had to confess that. About a year ago, I got hooked onto at home workout DVDs – specifically Beachbody ones. While I know that there are many amazing forms of exercise (running, swimming, hiking, going to the gym, to name a few), I just don’t make regular time for it if it’s not at home. I’ve had gym memberships and yoga passes and I just think to myself, “I have to go all the way to the gym!” And then I don’t go. Even if it’s 10 minutes away!

So, I’ve found something that works for myself: DVDs at home. I made a nice space in our basement that I can work out with my laptop set up and have plenty of space for burpees, pushups, planks and jumping! I’ve completed Insanity and 21 Day Fix. I’m about three days out from finishing 21 Day Fix Extreme.

What is the 21 Day Fix?

I’d say that it’s halfway between the intensity of Insanity and 21 Day Fix. It’s 30 minutes a day and trainer Autumn Calabrese shows you how to do each move and for how long. The only equipment you need are shown in the photo below.

I’ve been using a 3-pound, 5-pound and 8-pound set of a weights and a resistance band with 15-pounds of resistance. (The resistance band is amazing! An easy way to bring some equipment with you if you are traveling and need to workout from your hotel room.)

I find that the workouts are quite fun, challenging and keep me engaged the entire time. Each day you are doing something different like Plyo, Yoga, Pilates, or Cardio. It’s tough that you go 21 days with exercise EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. But the yoga and pilates feel like “working rests.” 21 Day Fix Extreme | Stone House Rock
I know I’m not quite done with the 21 Day Fix Extreme, but I really want to tell you about my results! Between the 21 Day Fix and the 21 Day Fix Extreme, I’ve lost a total of 10 pounds and toned up an insane amount! I had to start eating more food than I had planned on because my body was burning so many calories and I reached the place I wanted to be. I’m starting to see some wonderful muscle definition in my abs, arms and legs. I cannot wait till I have an excuse to wear a dress and heels again. 🙂

Along with these workout DVDs, I’m a part of various challenge and motivation groups throughout the year. These happen over Facebook and we simply post in the group with our activity for the day and help motivate each other to be healthy! If you’re ever interested in joining one of these motivation groups, please let me know! The more the merrier.
